Author Guidelines for Article Submission

Submission Criteria

All manuscripts should be addressed to the Editor, Current Science. Submission implies that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration elsewhere. If accepted, it will not be published elsewhere.

Categories of Manuscripts and Word Limits

  • General Articles: Up to 5.5 typeset pages; references limited to about 60.
  • Review Articles: Up to 8 typeset pages, approximately 100 references.
  • Research Accounts: Up to 8 typeset pages, about 60 references.
  • Research Articles: Up to 5.5 typeset pages.
  • Research Communications: Up to 2.5 typeset pages, no subheadings.
  • Correspondence: Up to 1 typeset page.
  • Meeting Reports: Up to 4 typeset pages.
  • General Articles: Up to 5.5 typeset pages, approximately 60 references.
  • Book Reviews: Typically solicited; unsolicited reviews are also considered.
  • Correspondence Letters: Not exceeding 1 typeset page.
  • Meeting Reports: Summaries of scientific meetings/conferences, up to 4 typeset pages.

Declarations Regarding Preprints

Authors must disclose if the manuscript is available in a preprint repository at submission. If accepted, the DOI of the preprint should be linked to the DOI of the published paper.

Ethical Issues Declaration

Manuscripts involving clinical studies must include a statement on informed consent from participants. Studies involving humans or animals must adhere to ethical standards of the country where research was conducted; a declaration of compliance must accompany the manuscript.

Supplementary Material

Detailed datasets or extensive tables should be provided as supplementary material for online publication. Decisions regarding supplementary material rest with the editorial team.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors must declare financial support or other potential conflicts of interest clearly at submission. If none exist, state explicitly: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Manuscript Preparation

  • Typed double-spaced on A4 pages; pages numbered consecutively.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point.
  • Title page to include manuscript title, author(s), affiliations, and corresponding author details.

  1. Title Page:

    • Manuscript title

    • Author(s) full name(s) and affiliations

    • Corresponding author's email address and contact details

  2. Abstract:

    • Concise and factual abstract of no more than 250 words

    • Include key findings and conclusions

  3. Keywords:

    • Provide 4-6 keywords relevant to your article

  4. Main Text (IMRAD format for original research):

    • Introduction

    • Materials and Methods

    • Results

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion

  5. Acknowledgments (if any)

  6. Conflict of Interest Statement:

    • Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest or explicitly state "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

  7. Funding Statement:

    • Disclose all sources of funding or state "No external funding received."

  8. References:

    • APA style, latest edition.

    • References must be numbered and listed alphabetically.

Reference Examples

  • Journal Article: Author(s). (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, Volume(Issue), pages. https://doi.org/xxxxx

  • Book Chapter: Author(s). (Year). Chapter title. In Editor(s) (Ed.), Book Title (pp. pages). Publisher.

Tables and Figures

  • Number consecutively, with legends.
  • High-quality images (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Formats accepted: JPEG, TIFF, PNG.

Image Quality

  • Minimum 300 dpi resolution.
  • Accepted formats: TIFF, JPEG, PNG.
  • Graphs and diagrams clearly labeled and editable.

Peer Review

All submissions are subject to peer review. Papers unsuitable for publication will be returned promptly. Papers cannot be resubmitted after rejection.

Ethical Permissions and Copyright

Authors must obtain permissions for reproduced content from other publications. All published views are those of authors and not necessarily those of Current Science or its publishers.
